O, Longelica! / 2022

Decades after an apocalyptic flood, a town hall convenes as an old journal — an artifact and remnant of pre-flood life — is found, parsed through, and discussed. Through dialogue between the performers and audience, interspersed narration from a chorus, and a sing-a-long where poems from the journal are sung to the tune of popular folk songs, a meaning making exercise in which a group collectively unravels knowledge of the past is conducted.

Burial Haptics / 2021

Burial Haptics holds works of sculpture, ceramics, video and text that consider the spaces between life and death, screen and soup, healing and desire. Questions around memory and memorialization are probed in this installation via the creation of historical, contemporary, and fictitious burial and healing traditions.

Elegy for Exported Desire / 2021

Collages of patterns from Chinese export porcelain are projected onto blank vases and bowls, deconstructing these historical vessels. The directionality of projection in the gallery creates looming shadows of the vases against the projections, forming echoes between these iconic objects and their representations. The blank vessels sit atop a bed of woodblock prints that depict instances of melancholia, both personal and cultural.
